nav-loop

Executes a task iteratively until completion, using structured status signals, stagnation detection, and a dual-condition exit gate.

Triggers

Natural-language phrases that auto-invoke the skill:

  • “run until done”
  • “keep going until complete”
  • “iterate until finished”
  • “loop mode”
  • “autonomous mode”
  • “don’t stop until done”

Also auto-invokes when a task document sets loop_mode: true.

What it does

  • Runs the task through phases: INIT → RESEARCH → IMPL → VERIFY → COMPLETE.
  • Renders a NAVIGATOR_STATUS block each iteration showing phase, progress, completion indicators, and exit conditions.
  • Enforces a dual-condition exit gate: 2+ completion heuristics (committed, tests passing, simplified, docs, ticket, marker) AND an explicit EXIT_SIGNAL.
  • Detects stagnation (same state hash for N iterations) and either pauses for input or auto-diversifies in autonomous runs.
  • Caps work at max_iterations so a broken task can’t spin forever.
  • On exit, runs the autonomous completion protocol (commit, archive, marker, suggest compact).

Example

"Run until done: add isPrime function with tests"

The skill researches existing utils, implements the function and tests, runs the suite during VERIFY, then emits EXIT_SIGNAL and completes in 3 iterations.
