nav-start
Loads the Navigator documentation index and session context so you begin work with an optimized context window instead of bulk-loading every doc.
Triggers
Natural-language phrases that auto-invoke the skill:
- “start my session”
- “begin work”
- “start working”
- “load the navigator”
- “resume work”
- “continue from where I left off”
- “what should I work on?”
What it does
- Detects the SessionStart hook sentinel; if context was pre-injected, skips the Read steps and renders the summary directly (fast path).
- Step 1.5: runs
auto_updater.pyonce whenauto_update.enabledis true, reports its result verbatim, and asks for a restart if it installed a newer version. The session-start hook itself only shows a notice; this step is where the update happens. - Verifies the project is initialized and loads
.agent/DEVELOPMENT-README.md(~2k tokens), the lightweight doc index. - Restores an active context marker from a prior compact, if one is waiting.
- Loads
.nav-config.json, the knowledge graph summary, and your user profile (verbosity, frameworks, corrections) for the session. - Checks the configured PM tool for assigned tasks and displays OpenTelemetry session stats plus the documentation token budget.
Example
"Start my Navigator session"Navigator loads the index, surfaces any assigned tasks and relevant memories, and reports measured token usage so you know how much context remains for work.
